dollbid is thrilled to be hosting new auctions from miniature couture artist, Ayal Armon – his style is clean, with unnecessary fuss, using pure fabrics and hand-embellishment that radiate elegant simplicity. Five items are now available on dollbid by Armon, and you’ll want to check them out! Click each image to take you directly to the auction.
Hello, and Welcome to my dollbid store! My name is Ayal Armon, and I present to you extraordinary fashion in miniature. After studying and working as a fashion designer in Israel, I found the United States became my mentor, sharpening my skills through ladies’ apparel, custom design work for private clientele, and my own sportswear collection. Expanding my ideas, skills and talent at Otis/Parsons College of Art and Design in L.A., I then discovered a love for collecting fashion dolls, and I’ve been making doll clothes ever since.
Pavane by Ayal Armon
Throughout my career, I have received training in Israel, California and New York in the fashion arts and design, and after receiving my Master in Fine Arts, I taught fashion design and illustration for six years. My doll fashions have kept me occupied for the past ten years, and I find a new muse with each and every fashion doll I see.
Pearl by Ayal Armon
I believe fashion is an art that is incomparable to other visual arts, and among my designs, I approach style and quality in the same way I did with women’s apparel – with an elegant touch. Enjoy my current listings, and check back – I have new designs created frequently.
The folks at the Italian Doll Convention have worked long and hard to make their event a mainstay on the doll convention scene…and it’s not hard to see the fabulous results! Now in their fourth year, the IDC event is one to put onto your calendars, but it is very limited and sells out quickly, so plan in advance. This year’s charity auction benefits SOS Villaggi dei Bambini, a benevolent organization dedicated to children’s developmental needs worldwide. CLICK ANY OF THE IMAGES IN THIS POST TO TAKE YOU DIRECTLY TO THE AUCTION.
This year’s charity auction lineup, which you can see and place bids by clicking here, offers the highest of fashion among our favorite makers and fashion dolls. There’s eye candy for everyone…and you can follow the excitement as the bids increase. We ask that our community share news of this auction to all your family and friends who love dolls – the maximum exposure brings the highest proceeds to the charity – and hey, it’s just good, plain fun!
Gorgeous Gowns by Gin-O as featured in the Tyler Wentworth 10th Anniversary Album
If you aren’t familiar with Gorgeous Gowns by Gin-O, then you’ve been missing out. Ginny Liezert has been sewing in miniature for years, and her formula of keeping lines simple using choice fabrics resonates beautifully in her repertoire. She takes commissions, and she sells from her own stock of creations – her pricing is quite attractive given the level of quality to which she takes her work. She takes the most simple silhouette, and makes it art with her choice of quality fabrics and styling. Ginny tells us, “I have always tried to keep it simple and let the fabric speak for itself. No tons of frou frou, just nice fabric.” And it’s easy to see her point-of-view in her designs.
She is a part of our community, and we hope you will discover her special touch. Ginny sews for all doll sizes, with favorites spanning all doll scale ranges. You can see much more of her work via Photobucket by clicking here, and you can connect with her on Facebook by clicking here.
For those following the Barbie Fashion Model Collection, formal images from Mattel for Principessa Barbie have been released – click here to see the details. She is a beauty in her white and embroidery…but we are also left wondering about other dolls in the scene…hmmmm?
We’ve covered Andrew Yang’s fascinating cloth dolls before…but with an in depth look into his world, we think he takes ‘fashion doll’ to a whole new level. His line, ‘The Kouklitas‘, are 27inch cloth dolls literally ripped from the face of fashion – using couture materials and inspirations. You’ll want to see more of his work…and have it inspire your fashion whim. His work is high end, and it shows. See items currently offered for sale – click here. Enjoy!
